MLA Ricardo Miranda was appointed Minister of Culture and Tourism on February 2, 2016.
MLA Miranda is a resident of Temple, where he lives with his extended family. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary-Cross (see map) which includes the communities of Vista Heights, Whitehorn, Temple, Rundle and Pineridge, on May 5, 2015
MLA Miranda served for 15 years as a flight attendant, and during that time he worked as a representative and organizer with the Canadian Union of Public Employees and as the research representative for Alberta.
MLA Miranda holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary. With the long term goal of obtaining his PhD he is working towards a secondary degree in industrial relations.
MLA Miranda represents a culturally rich and diverse community, one in which he is a natural fit. Speaking three languages fluently, he is an easy man to talk to.
